Ornate Swallowtail Angelfish

Tank: Fish only: live rock-based fish-only system; or reef aquarium. Keep singly, in pairs, or in small groups with one male. Provide 70 gallons for single or larger.
Aquarium Behavior: Conflicts may occur with fish with similar lifestyles.
Maximum Length: Females-14 in Males- 7 in
Food & Diet: Zooplankton substitutes. Accepts flake and other dried foods, chopped shellfish, mysis, and brineshrimp, and dried algae.
Reef Compatibility: Should not harm sessile or ornamental invertebrates.
Quick Notes: Males have no blue pigment on the body and females have a combination of blue stripes with black on their body.

Lamarch Angelfish

Tank: Fish-only, live rock-based fish-only system; or reef aquarium. Keep singly, in pairs, or in small groups with one male. Provide 70 gallons for a single fish or larger.
Aquarium Behavior: Rarely aggressive. Never introduce more than one angelfish species to the aquarium.
Maximum Length: Males- 10 in. Females are much smaller.
Food & Diet: Zooplankton substitutes. Accepts flake and other dried foods, chopped shellfish, mysis, and brineshrimp.
Reef Compatibility: May harm small ornamental shrimp, should not harm sessile invertebrates. Always use caution with everything.
Quick Notes: Will potentially breed in the aquarium. Most fish should not have a problem with this species with the exception of surgeonfish or tangs.

Yellow Swallowtail Angelfish
(Genicanthus melanospilus)

Tank: Fish-only, live rock-based fish-only system; or reef aquarium. Keep singly, in pairs, or in small groups with one male. Provide a 90 gallon for single or larger.
Aquarium Behavior: May temporarily chase after females or a few others if they feel they are in their space.
Maximum Length: 7 in
Food & Diet: Zooplankton substitutes, flake and granular food. Provide dried algae.
Reef Compatibility: May nip at sessile invertebrates, but generally one of the more trust worthy angelfishes.
Quick Notes: One of the least inexpensive angelfishes and fun to have.

Blackedged Swallowtail Angelfish

Tank: Fish-only, live rock-based fish-only system; or reef aquarium. Keep singly, in pairs, or in small groups with one male. Provide a 70 gallon or males, 120 gallons or larger.
Aquarium Behavior: May show aggression to fish such as wrasses or anthias.
Maximum Length: 6 in
Food & Diet: Zooplankton substitutes. Accepts flake and other dried foods, chopped shellfish, mysis, and brineshrimp.
Recommended as well are vitamin supplements.
Reef Compatibility: Should not harm sessile invertebrates or ornamental shrimp.
Quick Notes: An active open-water swimmer that may sometimes investigate the rockwork for food. The powder blue of the female is exquisite in its own, but in the male, the combination of this base color, plus stripes and a vivid blue is much more vibrant.
